Also the town has a permanent indoor market full of fresh daily produce. The early market day is a popular place for locals to meet up, buy fresh produce, or enjoy a coffee in one of the local bars.
You can also find a variety of small cobble streets and squares with a selection of clothing and furniture shops, along with traditional bars serving tapas and local wines. The Town has a peaceful feeling, and if you have the chance to walk around these quaint streets, you could easily be forgiven for thinking you were nowhere near the sea.
Apartments and townhouses in Javea Old Town
Property in Javea Old Town generally consists of apartments and townhouses, although on the outskirts of the town you will find more traditional villas. Many of the apartment blocks are older types without lifts and parking, so this must be a consideration when buying a property.
Also consider access, which could be challenging at times especially if the property is located some distance from a car park. However in most cases you are able to short stay park in order to unload groceries etc, but this should be a consideration when choosing a property. Firstly you can forget you car keys! Everything is just a short stroll from shops, bars, restaurants, post office, banks, hospital, and schools. The beach at Javea Port is only a 15/20 min walk, although in summer this could be a challenging task.
The Old Town has everything to offer and has a very special Spanish feel which becomes vibrant, especially in the summer months. Property here can be deceiving, from the street you may only see a single entrance door, but once inside you realise just how big some of these properties really are. Some of the townhouses can exceed 300m2 in build over various levels.
